Dean Student Affairs delivers a talk to University for Lincoln Faculty
Ms Maheen Ghauri, Dean Student Affairs, IBA Karachi conducted a session on “International Students – Diversity of a Pakistani Student” along with Dr. Abbas Gillani, Lecturer in Economics, Lincoln International Business School, University of Lincoln, for the faculty members of the University of Lincoln, UK. This presentation was part of a series of talks that University of Lincoln is running to understand their international students better and provide support to them accordingly.
The purpose of this session was to share values, behaviours, and attitudes of an international student, especially from a Pakistani and South Asian in UK perspective. The discussion included how this diversity can be embraced to make the University of Lincoln more inclusive for international students.
Ms Ghauri shed light on how cultural context, communication style, cultural values, family expectations, educational/learning style, and various other elements, shape the personality of students.
The session was very well received, where the Lincoln faculty had several questions and comments. Both speakers answered several questions of the participants making it an interactive session.
Currently, IBA Karachi is collaborating with the University of Lincoln for the partnerships in various domains.
