Guest Speaker Session: "Misconceptions about Islamic Finance"

Amid the suspension of all events at IBA, the Islamic Finance Society organized a session to give students knowledge about the Misconceptions related to Islamic Finance. This session was held on February 9, and Mufti Irshad Ahmad Aijaz was invited as the guest speaker. Mufti Irshad Ahmed is the Chairman of Shariah Advisory Committee, State Bank of Pakistan, and Chairman of Shariah Advisory Committee, Securities and Exchange Commission Pakistan.

Around 50 students attended the session. It was an insightful session that involved discussion about loan transactions, trade, Islamic economics, and different theories about Islamic Finance. Mufti Irshad Ahmad and Dr. Irum Saba welcomed questions from the audience.

Dr. Wajid H. Rizvi, Professor, and Dean of SBS was invited to present the honorary shield of IBA to Mufti Irshad Ahmad. Dr. Irum Saba Associate Professor, Program Director of MS-IBF department, and Patron of Islamic Finance society also presented an honorary shield from IFS to Mufti Irshad.
