IBA Finance Club (IFC), as part of its ongoing distinguished speaker series, hosted its second information session for the academic year 2017 to 2018 on 23rd November 2017 in the Event Hall-Student Center, IBA Main Campus.

The esteemed guest speaker, Mr. Thomas Ma (Director of Government and Regulatory Relations at CFA institute), was kind enough to take out valuable time from his busy schedule during his three days visit to Pakistan, to promote CFA program awareness amongst the local student body of IBA.

During the session, he emphasized on the importance CFA holds in the global community. He thoroughly briefed the students about the course breakup within each CFA level, and shed light on its fee structure and exam sessions. The audience consisted of finance majors who wanted to pursue a career in the investment industry and hence wanted to know more about the CFA qualification. The session was followed by a half an hour Q & A session.

The Q&A session gave the students an opportunity to put forth any reservations they had regarding the CFA qualification in a one-on-one session with Mr. Thomas Ma. It also gave students the chance to network with Mr. Muhammad Ali Bhabha, Head of Fixed income in NAFA who had accompanied Mr. Thomas Ma to this session.

As a token of appreciation, Mr. Thomas Ma also gifted IBA students and its faculty his new book which was later kept in library for easy accessibility to all IBAians.
