Dusk was about to envelop the lawns at IBA Main Campus, but the day was not over yet. In fact, the festivities were just about to begin as the sun took its leave. It was a Thursday like no other, or at least it began that way. As the students came out of the classrooms after yet another grueling day of studies on October 23rd, they were welcomed by some nice music drifting from the front lawn. The stage was set, the ramp aglow, and numerous stalls marked the outlines. It was the start of a promising and eventful evening.
As the crowed started gathering, they were welcomed with free Kulfis and Gola Gandas to set their mood right and prepare them ready for the fun that awaited. The stalls set up by the students of IBA offered their peers a variety of things ranging from cold drinks, cupcakes, BBQ, to games, t-shirts and much more. There were also some representation from businesses which offered shoes and make-up among other things, most notably a chance to take a picture with a large snake wrapped around you! In addition, the Club had also arranged for a complementary Ship Ride for the students. It proved to be quite popular, and perhaps the noisiest of all as the students laughed and shouted their heads off.
To quench the thirst from all the running and yelling, the Office Bearers had arranged for free Red Bulls as well, which created another surge in the activity levels. But the evening was far from over. After the people settled in and had some food, the arm-wrestling competition was held. We had some very interesting, and at times emasculating, commentary from our esteemed hosts, Shahzeb Younas and Aimen Nadeem, which added to the already joyous environment. After that, the students took part in an amazing Tug of War knock-out competition, and the winners were given free pizzas to fuel up. According to some reports, one of the members of the winning boys' team tried to make off with the whole pizza, but whether or not he was successful we do not know.
As the adrenaline from fighting to win and the excitement of cheering on went down a notch, a few remarkable song performances were given by the students of IBA. If there is one thing abundant in IBA, it is the wide range of talented students! As the crowd enjoyed the performances, preparation for the finale was underway. Everyone was asked to settle down as the music came up, and out on the ramp walked out Faraz Rizvi and Sheharyar Zaidi. Against the remarkable music clips, and intricate lighting to set up the atmosphere, the Fashion Walk began. A wide variety of new designs by MAK were showcased, each better than the last one, until the crowd was mesmerized by our showstopper, Mushk Kaleem, who walked down the ramp in an elegant bridal wear. Our special thanks to women's designer MAK and gentlmen's designer SHAHZEB SAEED MENSWEAR, make-up- Artist JABEEN'S SALON, shoes brand LACE UP & WHATNOT.
As the lights went out on the stage, the event had also come to an end. Overall, it was more than just a launch, and we congratulate the incoming and outgoing IMC organizing team, along with the patron of IMC Mr Jami Moiz, for arranging such an amazing event to introduce IMC 2014-15. This was only a modest start of a lot more in store for the year 2014-15 from the Office Bearers of the Marketing Club. We wish them the best of luck and excitedly await their upcoming events.
