Dr. Helmy started the talk by thanking the organizers of the event and expressed that he was lucky to be speaking to the youth of Karachi. "I feel that in the stratum of people of the world, especially in Arab world, the youth are neglected by older generations. Young people need guidance, experience and freedom to act, think, work and hope", said the honoured speaker. He thinks that we need to reduce and close the gap between the older and new generations in order to create healthy, learning experiences.

He talked about various waves of revolution which occurred in recent past and the reasons for their success and failure. He called the movement in Egypt an 'untraditional' form of revolution where the youth used different channels like social media to reach the masses.

He hopes that one day the youth will be able to 'give vitality and power to all organizations of civil society'. Dr. Al-Hadidy called upon all generations to hold back culture and philosophies because these are precious elements of any society.

In the question and answer session, he Dr. Helmy was asked about the Writing Union in Islamabad to which he said, "Writers are the think tank of any society… Without literature, art and culture, you are half human". Dr. Helmy Al-Hadidy reiterated the need for youth to be aware of the political scenario in their country. The audience was taken by wonder when he aptly put, "To tackle issues of bad governance, bad health and bad education, the answer is togetherness. One hand can't clap; two hands do it better. Many hands can applaud".

At the end of the event, memorabilia and flowers were presented to Dr. Helmy Al-Hadidy and Dr. Rahat Saeed.
