IBA Leadership Conference' 17 at IBA Main Campus held by Leadership Club

IBA Leadership Conference 2017 emerged as an exceptional entity, and established itself as the biggest of its kind that IBA has seen. IBLC'17 was a journey of developmental experiences where participants were prepared to take on leadership roles. IBLC'17 had a lot of expectations tied to it and it did not fail to deliver. Through the program and exceptional mix of activities, IBLC'17 endeavoured in strengthening the participant's self-confidence, inter-personal skills, and communication skills and most importantly, enhanced their leadership potential.

The 4 day event (8th-11th January) was held in IBA Main Campus, and revolved around the theme of 'Integrating Ideas' to imply the power of collective thought and how far collective efforts can take us in achieving goals. It also stood to establish that each one of us has something precious to offer to society and if all of us merged together our ideas and resources we can bring about a significant change in society.

Interactive sessions were a blend of renowned business leaders and entrepreneurs to discuss the real-life challenges faced by them with the belief of dealing the ups and downs head on and making a difference by integrating their innovative ideas. Key note speakers were the CEO and President of TCS holding MA Mannan where he discussed the role of leadership in moving up the ladder, his session was followed by Corporate Trainer Sidra Iqbal where she talked about how technology and social media have been a real game changers in every sphere of our lives and the role of leaders in this fast growing world. Also, Umair Jaliawala, Sohail Zindani, YBQ, Mirza Raza, Wali Zahid, Jawwad Rizvi, Nusrat Hidayatullah, and Arif Pyarali shared their experiences and wisdom with the participants in engaging and entertaining sessions.

The conference intended to teach and test the contestants' leadership and other necessary skills by hands on experience. There were several activities devised with the sole objective of bringing out the leader in them, making them a team player and developing a team leader within themselves. There was an egg-drop activity, an exciting treasure hunt across campus, minefield, balloon race, a competition for an ad shooting for 14th Street Pizza, among many others, and they were thoroughly enjoyed by the participants along with making them learn key skills in life. The activities were meant to test their communication skills and their ability to blend in with a distinct crowd of people while maintaining a strong identity of their own, to use whatever unique set of traits they possess and put it to use for the betterment of society and attainment of team goals and individual aims.

To relax and unwind, the participants were taken to Turtle Beach, to end the event on a high note, after the rigorous 3 days of IBLC'17.

IBLC'17 boasted the highest number of registrations, with students coming in from all over the country, and attracted a wide array of sponsors such as MeatOne, KFC, SSGC, Millac Foods, Mentors. Global, Avari Towers, 14th Street Pizza, Careem, Nescafe, Everyday, Express Tribune, FHM Magazines, 42 Days Challenge, to name a few.

The IBA Leadership Conference'17 has helped students to fully explore cultural differences, gain first hand exposure to the challenges of life, build confidence, and enhance decision-making skills in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Our activities were designed to be innovative, safe, fun and empowering by providing transformational experiences that enabled students to discover their passion, make a difference and realise their dreams.
