Hosted by the IBA Public Speaking Society, the IBA Debate Championship 2015 was one of the most competitive parliamentary debate competitions that have been organized in the recent history. This championship was organized in collaboration with the Debating Circuit, Karachi's biggest debating platform. It was a school style debate championship, but despite that it had teams from universities such as SZABIST, NUST and FAST alongside schools such as PAF Chapter, Cedar College and Lyceum. What made it different from other tournaments in the local circuit was the fact that it had top notch judges such as Ehab Ansari, Owais Munshi and Yelmaz Mujtaba and there was not a single day which had a shortage of judges. We were honored to have Sarosh Hasan, an IBA student who is a part of the Pakistan Debating Society and is currently coaching Karachi Grammar School, and Hassaan Bin Shaheen, who was the Champion of World's Public Speaking and one of the top debaters in Pakistan, as the Chief Adjudicators.

Considering how this was the first inter-school event by any society for this semester and the first event in Aman tower, City Campus, it all seemed to work out fine. As the Chief Adjudicator, Mr Hassaan Bin Shaheen, pointed out, it was the most well organized event that has taken place because there were no time delays and the participants seemed to love the ambiance that they would debate in. The final was organized in the J.S Auditorium and it was one of the toughest finals with The Debating Circuit as proposition and The Lyceum School as opposition. The Debating Circuit became the champions for the IBA Debate Championship after an extremely competitive final. Both the teams were awarded with a champions and runners up trophies. The best speaker, Hamza Bashir from Cedar College, was awarded the trophy for best speaker in the closing ceremony and with this the IBA Debate Championship came to a glorious end.
