Mission Statement:
The IBA Dramatics Society offers great opportunities for aspiring writers, actors, producers, filmmakers, directors, and technicians. Through theater and performing arts, we aim to showcase the young talent at IBA and celebrate art. Our purpose is to instill love and recognition for drama and theatre in our society and develop innovative and courageous artists poised to be the creative leaders of tomorrow.

Event Timeline:

• 27th November 2021: Society Launch
• Mid to end January- Fringe
• Fringe Social - Concert
• February 2022: Theatron
• End of March 2022: Annual Play

Action Plan:

• Society Launch: Introducing the society to the entire student body of IBA. The launch will include pantomime, flashmob, jamming session, and a mini-concert. The event will be held in the evening, from 6 PM onwards.
• Fringe: Every year, the society organizes one of the biggest events of IBA, namely Fringe. This intra-IBA drama competition involves about 10-12 shows, ranging from new writing and modern drama to classical plays. Senior artists and actors from the industry are invited as judges/guests. The competition will be closed with a social event. This social will be a large-scale concert by any famous artist for IBA students only.
• Theatron: The society also organizes Theatron, an inter-university theater competition. This event will target students all over from different universities and colleges. Every university will bring one play and the winner of the Fringe competition will perform against the other competitors. The winner of this competition will win a prize, which may include goody bags from sponsors or a trophy.
• Annual Play: This event is organized for IBA students and faculty. Best scriptwriters, directors, performers, and producers from Fringe and Theatron prepare a drama every year. This marks the closing of the IBA Dramatics Society.

Due to COVID, the IBA community could not execute this event for two consecutive years. Therefore, the current team at Dramatics Society plans to ensure smooth execution of the Annual Play and revive the theatric energy in all.
