What is the Rhodes Scholarship?

The Rhodes Scholarship administered by the Rhodes Trust at Oxford (UK)is one of the most prestigious and competitive international scholarship programs in the world, offering exceptional students a life-changing opportunity to pursue postgraduate study at the University of Oxford.

Each year, 2 outstanding scholars from Pakistan are selected to undertake any full-time postgraduate programme at the University of Oxford—ranging from one-year Master's degrees to two-year MPhils and highly competitive DPhil programmes.

A proud legacy

The first Rhodes Scholar for Pakistan took up residence in Oxford in 1951. Since then, more than 75 Pakistanis have been awarded the Rhodes Scholarship.

How to apply?

The application process is rigorous, requiring an outstanding academic record, thoughtful and compelling personal statements, and strong institutional endorsements (references).

Shortlisted candidates from Pakistan will be invited to an interview before a national selection committee, where they will be expected to articulate with clarity and conviction their academic ambitions, service and leadership work, and long-term vision for contributing to society.
