Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Türkiye is organizing 1st International Congress on Health, Sport, Energy and Environmental Sustainability (IHSEC 2026) on 23–25 April 2026.
Congress Vision
IHSEC 2026 aims to bring together approximately 25 universities from at least 12 countries, creating a balanced international academic platform across Europe, Central Asia, the Balkans and the Middle East.
The congress is designed to promote interdisciplinary dialogue and to support the development of sustainable international academic collaboration networks.
Key Thematic Areas
The congress focuses on interdisciplinary perspectives related to:
- Health Sciences
- Sports Sciences
- Energy Systems and Sustainability
- Environmental Sustainability
- Public Health and Sustainable Development
- Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Societies
Congress Format
The congress will be organized in a hybrid format.
Participants may join:
- In-person participation (Alanya, Türkiye)
- Online participation
Both formats allow presentation and participation in scientific sessions.
Partnership Opportunities
Three partnership levels are defined within the congress framework.
Supporting Partner
Supporting partners contribute by:
- Sharing the congress announcement through institutional communication channels
- Encouraging academic staff to submit abstracts or papers
- Supporting mutual institutional visibility
Academic Partner
Academic partners contribute more directly to the scientific structure of the congress.
Expected contributions include:
- Nomination of up to three academic staff members for the Scientific Committee
- Organization of one thematic panel session within the congress programme
Scientific Committee members contribute to maintaining academic quality and guiding the scientific evaluation process.
Strategic Partner
Strategic partners are institutions interested in contributing to broader academic collaboration.
In addition to the above contributions, this level encourages:
- Development of joint research initiatives after the congress
- Consultation for international funding opportunities
- Collaboration in academic publications
- Strengthening sustainable international academic networks
Peer Review Contribution
To support the scientific evaluation process, partner institutions are kindly invited to propose qualified academics who may serve as reviewers.
Reviewers may participate in the evaluation of abstracts and/or full papers depending on their areas of expertise.
Publication Collaboration
Partner institutions that host indexed academic journals are welcome to explore potential collaboration regarding the publication of selected full papers presented at the congress.
Possible collaboration models may include:
- consideration of selected congress papers for publication in indexed journals
- preparation of special issues or thematic sections related to congress topics
- editorial cooperation where appropriate
Selected full papers may also be considered for publication in special issues prepared in collaboration with partner institutions.
Financial Framework
IHSEC 2026 is organized on the basis of academic collaboration and scientific contribution.
Travel, accommodation, local transportation, meals, and other personal expenses are not covered by the host institution. Participation-related costs are expected to be arranged by the participating institutions or individual participants.
Erasmus Mobility
Academic or administrative staff visiting our university under Erasmus+ mobility programmes may participate in the congress if their mobility period coincides with the congress dates.
However, mobility grants are managed within Erasmus programme mechanisms and are not funded by the congress organization. Interested participants may contact their respective Erasmus offices for further information.
Accommodation
The host university does not provide accommodation services directly.
However, preliminary discussions have been conducted with several hotels in Alanya and group rate offers have been obtained for the congress dates. Accommodation information is available on the congress website. Participants may contact the hotels directly to arrange their reservations.
IHSEC Global Academic Network Initiative
IHSEC 2026 is envisioned not only as an international congress, but also as a starting point for a broader academic collaboration network connecting universities working in the fields of health, sports, energy and environmental sustainability.
Through this initiative, participating institutions may have the opportunity to contribute to the gradual formation of an IHSEC Global Academic Network, which aims to:
- strengthen long-term inter-university academic cooperation
- facilitate the development of joint research projects and international funding applications
- encourage collaborative academic publications
- promote interdisciplinary dialogue among institutions from different regions
- support the creation of a sustainable international knowledge exchange platform
Participation in the congress does not create formal institutional obligations. The initiative aims to provide a flexible academic environment where institutions interested in deeper collaboration may gradually develop partnerships following the congress.
